Bill Lowe, our long time member and treasurer of IDS Chicago, donates his time and talents to help people getting a new start in life, by choosing furnishings for their home. He would like to make Chicago Furniture Bank to look festive for the volunteers, employees and patrons. And that is where you come in...
Come out Tuesday, November 8, to the Chicago Furniture Bank (4801 S. Whipple St) to decorate the lobby and spaces for Christmas. It won't take long if we have a group to do it. If you have any decorations that you would like to donate, bring them with you.
We need 10 - 12 people and lunch will be provided!
The mission of the Chicago Furniture Bank is to provide essential furniture to individuals and families in need.
Chicago Furniture Bank is to provide dignity, stability, and comfort to Chicagoans that face poverty by allowing clients to handpick an entire home's worth of furnishiings for free.
We believe everyone should be able to sleep in a bedk share a family meal at a kitchen table, and enjoy the comfort of a furnished home.
*We will also need 3 - 5 people on January 13th, 10 am - 12 pm to take it all down. No lunch provided on this day. Contact Barbara Karstrom with questions.
